Programs

Morris K. Udall School offers a Physical Education Program that is engaging, developmentally appropriate, inclusive and lifetime activity driven. Our school has approximately 700+ students in grades K-8th. The P.E. program provides students from kindergarten thru eight grade opportunities to become proficient in concepts and skills that are needed to develop motor, cognitive and affective mastery. The curriculum is designed to stress the importance of leading physically active lives. Students are taught a variety of movement forms, such as sports, dance, recreational activities, and fitness activities. The lessons are selected and sequenced to align the Arizona Physical Education State Standards to each class and create meaningful learning experiences. Morris K. Udall School has a regulation size gymnasium that is used for P.E. classes and afterschool sports teams. The gym has six baskets with fiberglass backboards and wooden floors. It also has two outdoor basketball courts, a baseball diamond and a large field that is used for soccer. Morris K. Udall School has a quality Physical Education Program that focuses on teaching students to become self-directed lifelong learners who exhibit a physically active lifestyle.

The Udall Computer Lab is a happy place where students are actively engaged in Standards driven lessons. We have a student-produced newsletter, where student reporters document school events using cameras, video, and Microsoft Publisher.
All students use the Microsoft Office Computer programs. Students receive instruction and practice in Readiness skills for Kindergarten-2 grades, Fundamental skills for grades 3-5 once a week. Sixth through Eighth graders come for one term and gain essential computer skills in order to
Graduate fully prepared in technology for their high school experience.
Some activities students enjoy are:
- Keyboarding
- typing their own journals {creating boarders, inserting pictures and symbols to embellish their thoughts}
- Printing their journals and publishing them into booklets
- Creating PowerPoint presentations to present content knowledge acquired through research. {Inserting graphs, photos, movies, and clips}.
- Creating research projects for classes
- Safe internet use is taught and practiced

- Web page design (introduction)
Students love to come to the lab adopt safe practices and gain proficiency in the many technology opportunities we utilize in our modern day-to-day lives.
ART
Visual Art plays an important role in the social and creative development. It strengthens our students’ self- image and overall academic performance as well as fostering an appreciation of culture and ethnic diversity. Students will create projects that enhance knowledge, beauty and creativity through various medias.
MUSIC
Music education plays an important part in the cultural and social development. It provides K-8 students the opportunity to experience band, orchestra or choir. Students will learn basic music appreciation, structure, singing, instrumentation and the joy of music.
