At Morris k Udall the counselor services students and families in the following ways:

• Implements second step curriculum.
• Helps children build social and behavioral skills that will enable them to be successful in their lives and in the future.
• Works with administration to prevent and intervene before behavior impedes academic performance.
• Meets with parents, teachers and administrators to determine interventions that can be implemented to help children be successful, specifically those with special needs, behavioral needs and medical needs.
• Acts as a liaison between the school and outside agencies.
• Is a critical member of the team that develops personalized programs, when applicable, based on each child's strengths and needs.
