Dress Standards

Isaac Middle School strives to maintain an environment that
is safe for all students and is free from threat and danger.
It is our intent to maintain an atmosphere that is beneficial
to learning and not distracting for any reason. Therefore, the
following dress code regulations are in effect for all students
at Isaac Middle School.
1. Plain white shirt/top/blouse with
a plain white collar and plain white sleeves.
• No sleeveless
shirts are allowed.
• No colored t-shirts or printed t-shirts are to be worn under
the all white shirt.
• No logos on shirts/tops.
• Button shirts are acceptable.
• Shirts/tops/blouses must be tucked-in at all times.
• Shirts that are oversized or too tight are not allowed.
• School athletic issued jerseys/uniforms are allowed on
game days only and must be worn over the white uniform shirt
and
be tucked in.
• During the winter months, students will only be allowed
to wear all white or all navy blue jackets, sweaters, or
sweatshirts.
• School issued sweatshirts will be allowed.
• Collars of white shirt must be exposed over all sweatshirts
at all times.
2. Navy blue pants or walking shorts, skirts,
culottes, or jumpers (girls only). Pockets may not sewn on
the outside
of the garment.
• All bottoms must be hemmed with thread,
not cuffed, with a single break at the top of the shoe.
• Athletic wear is not allowed. This includes fleece (sweatpants),
spandex, and nylon (wind breaker material).
• Logos of any kind are not allowed including athletic
and/or professional sport logos.
• Shorts and skirts must be as long as the end of the
fingers when arms are at the side and must not be longer
than the
top of the kneecap for all students.
• In regard to uniform bottoms, the following are unacceptable:
Levis/denim
Interstate pants/.shorts
Overalls
Corduroy
Cargo Pants
Exposed Undergarments
Slits/cuts of side of leg seams
3. Other
• Belts with a plain buckle are required on all pants/shorts
with belt loops. Pants with belt loops cut off
not allowed. (initials on buckles or hanging belts are not allowed.)
• No caps, hats, or any type of head wear allowed.
• No spiked jewelry is allowed.
• Bandannas are not allowed.
• Students must wear covered footwear only. (No slippers,
thongs, open toed sandals, or high heels. Socks
are recommended at
all times. Socks can be no longer than mid-calf.
Shoes must be tied
or fastened.
• Sunglasses are not allowed at school.
• Any buttons, jewelry, and other accessories which
contain vulgar, lewd, obscene or other messages
which may lead
to substantial interference with school activities,
including accessories
which
advocate the use of alcohol, drugs, and accessories
which make reference to, or identify gangs, are
not allowed.
This
includes
backpacks and notebooks that are written on inappropriately.
Students
who fail to adhere to the standardized dress code policy
will be disciplined on an individual
basis by the
school administration.
Administrative consequences include but are
not limited
to the following:
1. After school detention.
2. In-School Suspension
3. Off Campus Suspension
4. Expulsion
Due to variations in style and changes in fashion,
the school administration and the Safety
Committee reserve
the right
to deem certain articles of clothing and/
or jewelry as appropriate or inappropriate throughout
the
year. Parents
will be notified
as soon as possible about any changes made
to the dress code. |
