Parent involvement is critical to student success. At P.T. Coe School parents are invited to attend and participate in many programs, as well as be involved in their children’s education in a variety of ways throughout the year. Parents are welcome on Coe’s campus and encouraged to visit their children’s class as well as programs, assemblies and schoolwide activities.
P.T. Coe will be forming a Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) this year. The PTO is responsible for primary fundraising. Money raised by the PTO is used for field trips, guest speakers, assemblies, and class rewards. The PTO also sponsors various activities for the school.
The last Friday of each month, ‘Principal’s Coffee Corner’ is held in the cafeteria. This is an informal time where parents and the principal are able to chat about the school. The principal shares information on programs and activities. Parents are able to ask questions and voice concerns to the principal. Parents are also asked for their input regarding issues that affect them and their children. Parents are always welcome at the Coffee Corner.
A variety of parent involvement opportunities are available at P.T. Coe School throughout the year. Those include:
- ESL Classes
- Parenting Classes
- Nutrition Program
- Library Night
- Family Math Night
- Parent Volunteers
- Jump Start (Kdg.)
- Wellness Walk
- U.P.E.M.
