The goals of the P.T. Coe library / Media Center are to provide students with skills to use a variety of resources and information, and to instill a lifelong love of reading. Reading is the central focus of our school. The library has a collection of over 23,000 items. It is open from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. daily for teachers, students and parents to check out books and other media. Students have an official P.T. Coe Library Card for checking out books in our library. We encourage our students to read many of the award winning titles and just enjoy the comfortable, stimulating environment of Coe’s library.

Parents play a critical role in helping their children develop not only the ability to read, but also an enjoyment of reading. We encourage families to visit the school library or public library together and make reading for pleasure an important part of their home life.

Besides the weekly library classes offered at P.T. Coe, library programs also include:

  • Family Library Nights (monthly)
  • Scholastic Book Fairs
  • Read Across America (on March 2 to celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday)
  • Author visits
